Hi everybody, I recently stumbled across this subreddit looking for information on how to tackle a problem in NX CAD. I am wondering since I started my studies, is there a reason for my university college to force us to work with NX CAD? Forced meaning, we are only allowed to model assignments in NX CAD, presumably because of cheap licensing fees.
As far as I know, it is definitely not the industry standard, and finding support on forums is a lot harder than say Solidworks. In fact, community support for NX CAD is near non-existant, and trying to find a solution to a specific problem is almost impossible. While we're told that the FEM analysis tools in NX are ahead of those in Solidworks and the like, so far we haven't worked with that at all.
Is there an upside to only using NX CAD, or should I start getting into Solidworks or other software?
